Buildings and construction account for nearly 40% of global energy-related CO2 emissions, more than any other single sector.
Women outnumber men in architecture schools across the nation, but still have less than 40% of representation in practice.
The construction industry requires more than one-third of the natural resources we extract from the earth.
This leaves architects with a vast array of responsibilities, far beyond aesthetics.
